ABOUT THE PLAY
In Praise of Madness; Its original name is “Morias enkomion seu laus stultitiae”. Erasmus, who completed his work in just a few days, did not use any books while creating his work. There are two basic views that dominate Erasmus' humorous work, which has preserved its vitality, validity and attractiveness unchanged until today. According to the first, true wisdom is madness. According to the other view, thinking oneself wise is true madness. From a literary perspective, "In Praise of Madness" is perhaps the most perfect example of the Latin poet Horatius' principle of "Telling the Truth with Laughing". We look at today's world, which is on the verge of insanity, from the theater stage with the play we adapted from Erasmus's book. At any time, in any city... Who knows, maybe "Madness", which tells the truth with a laugh, is somewhere right next to you.
